We saw earlier that there are several sorts of rapiers that are developed over time in response to the fabric demand that can be effectively generated on them.
The most durable and still in use rapier mechanism is necessary to weave heavy fabric such as carpets and tapestries, whose foundation fabric is jute or any heavy count spun yarn. There are many rapier loom suppliers available on the market.
Flexible rapiers are designed to generate a medium and fine range of fabrics, such as sarees, dress fabrics, shirting and suiting, and so on. Simultaneously, advancements were made to transform plain weave fabric into Twill, Satin, Dobby designs, and jacquard design fabrics using extra loom mechanisms.
As time passed, they felt compelled to increase the rapier speed. As a result, crank rapier technology, which could reach speeds of 250 RPM, was upgraded to cam rapier technology that could reach speeds of 600 – 700 RPM.
Simultaneously, advancements were made to transform plain weave fabric into Twill, Satin, Dobby designs, and jacquard design fabrics using extra loom mechanisms.
A shuttle with a holder is commonly used on weaving machines to carry the weft thread while weaving. To weave in the weft, the shuttle is carried back and forth through all the warp fibres.
A shuttle-less weaving loom, where the weft yarn will be carried by carriers through the warp strands to the opposite side of the loom; these carriers are known as rapiers.
Rapier looms come in two varieties:
- With a single rapier
- With a double rapier.
The single rapier will carry the weft yarn through the warp yarn, but the double rapier uses two rapiers, one for 50% of each width of the fabric.
Because of their higher speed and capacity to weave a broader width of cloth, double rapier machines are more popular than single rapier machines.
Alidhra Weavetech has one of the most technologically advanced electronic controlled Rapier Jacquard machines to weave any type of Jacquard fabric. It can weave fabrics up to 360 cm wide, such as those used in home furnishings.
It can also be used to weave sarees and finely patterned fabric for high-end clothing.
A programmed speed of a maximum of up to 700 revolutions per minute and 1520 metres per minute is available on this Rapier Jacquard Machine. It can easily work with a maximum of up to 12 different colours of weft yarn at the same time.
This machine can weave a durable and high-quality cloth since it can offer over 300 picks/cm. Depending on the sort of cloth you want to weave. Jacquard weaving can reach speed of up to 500 RPM.
Fabrics such as Rayon, Bemberg, Jari, and Multi-Ply Yarns benefit from the capability of this High-Speed Rapier Jacquard Machine. Its guideless rapier has advantages such as no marks or stains on materials and less tape wear and tear.
Because of the guideless rapier, the maintenance costs are also reduced. With a variety of capabilities, this machine is both user-friendly and long-lasting while also producing high-quality cloth at a rapid speed.
