Disney’s Hollywood Studios is an action-packed theme park. It’s no wonder that the park is seeing strong demand right now, with the additions of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Hollywood in fact, tends to fill up faster than the other Disney World theme parks when it comes to Disney Park Pass reservations. Hollywood Studios continues to have the longest lines of all of the parks, and we expect this trend to continue, particularly during peak times. While this may cause anxiety for those of you who have appointments coming up, we’re here to help.
There’s no doubt that Hollywood Studios will continue to attract visitors who want to try out the additional activities for the first time, as well as frogs who can’t get enough (like us!). If you’re planning a trip later this year, now is the time to buy tickets and make your Disney Park Pass reservations, if you haven’t already! We anticipate even higher demand following the March 1, 2022 debut of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive Star Wars hotel.
Getting into the Hollywood Studios at Disney
You must try your luck at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance’s Boarding Group. However, as of September 23, Disney World has suspended the virtual queue for Rising of the Resistance, and a traditional standby line has been established. Just keep in mind that it can show up again at a later period or as needed.
You’ll want to attempt for a Boarding Group before you even arrive at the park if the virtual wait is used during certain busy periods. Every day at 7 a.m., the virtual queue starts, and guests can check for available Boarding Groups as long as everyone in their group has valid entry and a Disney Park Pass reservation for Hollywood Studios. You can do this in your Disney hotel room or wherever else you are close to at the time.
The parking lot opens an hour before the park opens; parking trams are not accessible at this time. From Disney’s Caribbean Beach station, the Disney Skyliner is normally up and running an hour before the park’s official opening time, making it a perfect choice for anyone staying at one of the Skyliner’s resorts. The buses start running by 8:50 a.m. a 10 a.m. at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
You will through the security check and the park admission checkpoint with minimal delays. Touchless detectors that you walk past are now used in security. Finger scans at the touchpoints have been restored.
